It's an exciting time buying a new saddle and there are many styles, colours, silver fittings, carving and stamping patterns to choose from to compliment either the plain work saddle or to dress up a show saddle, bridle or halter. 

It may seem like a daunting task working out exactly what you want, but Ty will help and advise each step of the way to ensure you get exactly what you want.

Why Buy a Custom Made Saddle
The most important thing to consider when buying any saddle, new or secondhand, is that it provides you and your horse with a comfortable ride.  An ill-fitting saddle may cause poor performance, sore backs or just an unhappy horse, somethimes without you even knowing..

A custom made saddle is designed and built to fit you and your horse and is especially made for your particular requirements. 

We make our own wood and rawhide trees to ensure a perfect fit and enables us to design any style of saddle.

 The length of seat, slope of bars, height of cantle, type of swells and horn are all specific to you and your horse.  Also there may be certain aspects of your horse, style of riding or particular needs that you have identified as something that will assist you in training or showing your horse to its full potential.   Normally these aspects cannot be incorporated in a factory made saddle or something “off the rack”.

Designing Your Saddle
Ty spends time talking with each client about the type of riding they do, the style of saddle needed, the type of ground seat required, and the type of horse the saddle is for.  Then Ty discusses the options for leather colour, carving, stamping and silver trimmings which are all extra options clients can choose to “pretty up” their saddle.  Whether building a work saddle or show saddle, Ty works very hard to ensure each client gets value for their money.  This is very important when a client has a strict budget to work to.

We have many saddles on our website to help our clients choose how they want their saddle to look.  Carving patterns, silver trimmings, border stamps can all be priced individually and added to make your saddle your very own.

Ty is passionate about the art of saddle making and provides his clients with only the finest American leathers, with stainless steel or solid brass fittings.  We have recently extended our services and now offer clients our own silver fittings, creating a beautifully crafted saddle, guaranteed to last.

We also custom make a full range of show and work gear, from heavy work bridles and reins to beautifully crafted show halters and bridles.
